The Starch Indicator for Iodometry is a solid, free-flowing, powdered solid, amorphous powder or granule. This chemical is odourless or has a slight characteristic odour.
This chemical is combustible and has explosive properties - fine dust dispersed in air in sufficient concentrations, and in the presence of an ignition source is a potential dust explosion hazard. Minimum ignition energy > 30 m (depends on particle size, moisture content, etc.).
Alternate names for the chemical include Vitex and Modified Starch.
