The NUL-208 NeuLog Heart Rate & Pulse Logger Sensor serves as a tool for monitoring and comparing pulse rates in diverse exercise and rest conditions. Additionally, it provides insights into changes in blood volume/flow in the finger or earlobe over time.

Operating in two modes, the sensor can measure the Beats Per Minute (BPM) of the heart rate or display the analogue arbitrary value of the measured signal. Utilising plethysmograph-based electrodes, the sensor comprises an infrared LED transmitter and a matched infrared phototransistor receiver.

To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to keep the sensor away from direct sunlight and high-intensity lights. For accurate readings, the student being monitored should remain as still as possible during measurements. Widely applicable in fields such as Biology, Health Sciences, Physiology, Exercise Science, and Psychophysiology, the sensor comes pre-calibrated from the factory with an experiment duration ranging from 1 second to 31 days.
