Spectrophotometry Assistant

Visualize Your Data: Advanced Spectrophotometry Assistant

Move beyond basic absorbance readings with Westlab's advanced Spectrophotometry Assistant. This tool not only calculates concentration using standard methods but also helps you visualize the underlying principles and your data for greater insight and accuracy.

Choose your calculation method:

  • Beer-Lambert Law (A = εbc): Calculate concentration directly when you know the Molar Extinction Coefficient (ε) and Path Length (b). Includes an interactive explorer where you can adjust ε, b, concentration, and wavelength (nm) to see real-time effects on absorbance, transmittance, and simulated light color.

  • Standard Curve (Linear Fit): Generate a standard curve by inputting your known concentration and absorbance data points. The tool performs linear regression, calculates your unknown concentration, and displays an interactive chart plotting your standards, the regression line (with R² value), and your unknown sample's position. The chart updates dynamically as you add or modify points!

Key Features:

  • Handles various concentration units (µM, mM, ng/µL, µg/mL, ppm, etc.).

  • Provides warnings for OD readings outside the optimal range or poor standard curve fits (low R²).

  • Includes an interactive Beer-Lambert visualization with wavelength color simulation.

  • Generates a dynamic, interactive Standard Curve plot using Chart.js.

  • Features a polished UI with Dark Mode toggle and keyboard shortcuts (A/B for tabs, C for calculate, R for reset).

  • Offers enhanced tooltips and clear presentation of results.
