The Sodium Alginate is a solid, white to tan powder with a slight odour. This chemical is combustible but not flammable.
However, the substance will burn when in contact with a flame, and self-extinguishes when the ignition source is removed. Once ignited, the chemical tends to smoulder.
Alternate names for the chemical include Sodium Polymannuronate and Aliginic Acid Sodium Salt.
