Mueller Hinton E Agar is a medium for disc diffusion antimicrobial susceptibility testing and determination of Minimal Inhibitory Concentrations (MIC) using the Etest® method.

This is a medium with a low nutrient capacity used to standardise the zones of inhibition obtained. For this reason, certain fastidious strains do not grow on this medium.
