The Coulomb Meter is a reliable and cost-effective digital unit that serves as a suitable replacement for the traditional electroscope. It is designed to measure electrical charge or the quantity of electricity in a precise manner.

One Coulomb is defined as the quantity of electricity equivalent to 1 amp second (where one amp flows for exactly one second). Notably, the charge on an electron inside an atom is 1.602 x 10-19 Coulombs. The Coulomb Meter offers a wide measurement range, capable of handling charges up to 1,999nC (nanoCoulombs), with 1nC being equal to 10-9 Coulombs. The meter employs a 1uF capacitor that charges as electricity is supplied to its terminals, causing its voltage to rise with increasing charge. This can come from various sources, such as current flowing through a resistor from a battery, static electricity discharged into the terminal from an electrostatic rod, and more.

The charge exhibits similar behavior to the vane of an electroscope but operates at very low voltages, distinguishing it from traditional electroscopes. Additionally, the Coulomb Meter comes with a 25mm diameter collector plate to fit the 4mm socket and a 9V battery, which can be easily replaced by removing the bottom panel when needed.
