Product Questions

Are these suitbale for freezing food-grade samples at temperatures of approx. -20C?
Question by: Jordan on 30 Jul 2024, 12:57 pm
These centrifuge tubes are not HACCP or food grade they are medical grade so we cannot assure that they are foodgrade.

However, you are welcome to try and put food in them, store them and freeze them. These centrifuge tubes are gamma sterile.

What low (-80C / -40C freezer?) and high (+121C autoclave?) temperatures are these rated to?
Question by: Lara on 6 Feb 2024, 8:01 pm
The temperature resistance of 663-819 is:

1. +121°C (autoclave): The tubes can withstand autoclaving at 121°C at 15 psi for 20 minutes, taking into consideration that the appropriate caps are either removed from the tubes or have a slightly loose closure.

2. -40°C/-80°C (freezer): It is not recommended to store our 50ml tubes at low temperatures, as previous tests on the same polypropylene material grade exposed to low temperatures yielded inconsistent results.

For further clarification, if you have any inquiries regarding the provided information, please let us know the intended use of 663-819 or testing procedures.
