What was behind our shift from rubber tubing?

Natural rubber vacuum tubing degrades unpredictably, lasting from weeks to years before hardening, cracking, and perishing. Sunlight exposure accelerates this process, leading to frequent replacements and maintenance issues.

What did we consider when selecting the material?

Our goal was to identify a material that could endure harsh laboratory conditions while maintaining its structural integrity. Key factors in our selection process included resistance to UV exposure, heat, and mechanical distortion, as well as the ability to remain impervious to common gases and liquids.

Why does the tubing have a square profile?

One of our team questioned the need for a round exterior which led to the innovative square profile. The shape allows the tubing to sit flat on the bench, preventing it from rolling. Additionally, it minimises kinking, ensuring an uninterrupted gas flow for reliable performance.
