The SPLInsert™ products are designed to closely replicate the in vivo environment, enhancing the attachment, growth, and differentiation of a wide range of cell types.

Membrane Design & Performance

Each insert has a selected track-etched polyethylene terephthalate (PET) membrane with a precise 8.0μm pore size. These membranes are known for their high chemical resistance and low protein-binding properties. Track-etching ensures a uniform pore size and consistent pore density, delivering reliable and reproducible experimental conditions.

Applications & Research Suitability

They are suited for a range of experimental protocols including invasion, migration, transportation, drug uptake, epithelial polarisation, chemotaxis, co-culture studies, toxicity testing, and in vivo barrier modelling. Their permeable nature allows for a diverse set of applications across cell biology and pharmacology.

Construction & Dimensions

The insert frames are made from durable polystyrene (PS) and are packed in cell culture-treated plates, ensuring optimal conditions for biological experiments. The distance from the membrane to the bottom of the well is 0.85mm for 24-well formats, and the nominal membrane thickness ranges from 10 to 23μm.
