On the back of the box it says that these papers work best with buffered solutions. What is the issue in using with unbuffered solutions to test cosmetics solutions or other lab acids and bases?

Hello Dominique, when we say non-buffered or lightly buffered, we are usually referring to water. These should work in these situations as we would normally consider a water-based solution that is testing cosmetics or lab acids and bases buffered.
