This Mini Projectile Launcher is designed to demonstrate the effect of launch angle on the range of a projectile. It allows students to explore concepts of projectile motion and trajectories by testing how changes in launch angle and velocity influence the distance travelled.
This apparatus helps illustrate that the maximum range is achieved when launched at a 45° angle, making it ideal for physics demonstrations and classroom experiments.
This launcher is equipped with a sturdy release latch that can be adjusted and locked at various settings to control both velocity and launch angle.
It comes supplied with two drilled balls – one steel and one aluminium – along with an attached protractor and plumb bob to accurately determine the angle of inclination. A clamp is also included for securely fastening the unit to a tabletop during use.
To conduct experiments, the steel or aluminium ball is mounted in the launch barrel so the axis of the launcher aligns with the centre of the graduated degree circle. The projectile can then be fired at different angles between 0° and 90°, with the resulting ranges recorded for analysis.
