G-Force Calculator
Centrifuge G-Force Calculator
Convert between RPM (revolutions per minute) and RCF (relative centrifugal force, or 'G-Force') using validated scientific formulas. Enter the rotor radius and either RPM or RCF to calculate the other value. Always consult your centrifuge manual for manufacturer-recommended G-Force values and maximum speeds for your specific rotor.
Key Features
- Dual unit support for radius (centimeters/inches)
- Real-time calculation validation
- Uses industry-standard formulas
- Error prevention for invalid inputs
Calculation Interface
Active Formulas
RCF = 0.00001118 × Radius(cm) × RPM²

How to Calculate G-Force (RCF)
Relative Centrifugal Force (RCF), often called G-Force, depends on the radius of the rotor and the speed of rotation.
Using Centimeters (cm):
RCF = 0.00001118 × Radius(cm) × RPM²
Using Inches (in):
RCF = 0.0000284 × Radius(in) × RPM²
How to Calculate RPM
You can rearrange the formula to find the required speed (RPM) for a desired G-Force.
Using Centimeters (cm):
RPM = √(RCF / (0.00001118 × Radius(cm)))
Using Inches (in):
RPM = √(RCF / (0.0000284 × Radius(in)))
Example Calculation
For a rotor with a radius of 15 cm spinning at 3,500 RPM:
RCF = 0.00001118 × 15 × (3500)²
RCF ≈ 0.00001118 × 15 × 12,250,000
RCF ≈ 2,058 ×g
