The NUL-212 NeuLog Sound Logger Sensor offers dual modes of operation for versatile applications. In its slow mode, it measures sound-pressure levels in decibels, providing valuable data for acoustic analysis. Switching to fast mode, the sensor can display waveforms from various sound sources like tuning forks and wind chimes, enabling the determination of period and frequency.
When equipped with two sound sensors, this tool facilitates the calculation of the velocity of sound propagation in different media by timing a pulse travelling between them. Housed in a plastic box with an opening for atmospheric exposure, the sound sensor is a valuable instrument in the fields of Physics, Mechanics, Biology, Environmental Science, and Acoustics.
Pre-calibrated at the factory, the sensor supports experiment durations ranging from 25 milliseconds to 31 days, making it suitable for a broad spectrum of scientific investigations.
