DURAN® YOUTILITY Lab Bottles, Amber Glass - With Screw Caps, Pouring Rings & Bottle Tags

These DURAN® YOUTILITY® GL45 Laboratory Bottles are an innovative system designed for safe and efficient handling in laboratories. The amber borosilicate 3.3 glass bottles come with screw caps, pouring rings, and bottle tags - available in four popular volumes: 125ml, 250ml, 500ml, and 1000ml.

With an ergonomic design, including specially shaped gripping zones on both sides, they allow easier and safer handling. Additionally, the slimmer bottle profile optimises storage in autoclaves, laboratory refrigerators, and on shelves.

Glass Material & Chemical Resistance

The bottles are moulded from the tried and tested DURAN® borosilicate 3.3, a pharmacopoeial Type 1 neutral glass. DURAN® glass offers excellent chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance, and outstanding durability.

As an alternative to clear DURAN® glass, these amber bottles provide UV protection for light-sensitive substances, meeting USP 660 and Eur. Ph. 3.2.1 standards. The fired-on amber coating preserves interior glass properties, ensuring suitability for storing or transporting UV-sensitive chemicals with less than 10% spectral transmission between 290–450nm.

Screw Cap Design & Handling

The accompanying screw caps are made from food-grade polypropylene and are fully autoclavable and reusable. Their ergonomic design features grooves and ridges for easy tightening or removal, even with gloved hands.

The shortened glass thread allows for significantly faster opening and closing, while being fully compatible with standard DIN GL45 closures. The integrated cap plug sealing system ensures a liquid-tight seal, while the cap includes a Retrace Code for product traceability via a downloadable certificate.

Bottle Graduation & Labelling

Each bottle has an amber, easy-to-read ceramic printed graduation scale for fast volume estimation. A predefined labelling area on the bottle is compatible with the DURAN® YOUTILITY® self-adhesive labels, allowing unambiguous identification of contents, caps, and samples.

The labels are tear-resistant, chemically robust, and remain secure across a wide temperature range, from -40°C to +150°C, including use in autoclaves, freezers, and incubators.

Bottle Tags & Colour Coding

The silicone GL45 bottle tags are a reusable option of marking laboratory bottles. They can be securely attached around the neck, even with the screw cap in place and are easy to remove with bare or gloved hands.

Available in eight colours - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, and white - they enhance the identification and organisation of multiple bottles in the lab environment.

Applications & Storage

These bottles are ideal for scientific research tasks such as sampling, storage, media preparation, mixing, and sterilisation of liquids. Their slim design supports horizontal stacking, maximising available space in laboratory refrigerators and autoclaves. Each bottle also integrates a Retrace Code for traceability, supporting compliance and quality control requirements.
